The fourth installment in the series and quite possibly the best. Buechler keeps the action moving and the performances are great! Mark Hamil, and Stephen Macht are a stand out lending heart and realism to another wise standard genre fare. Buechler's re-invention of the Outsider is amazing, lending both horror and pathos to what could have been just another monster movie.

Stories from the Director: "Tarzan: The Epic Adventures" had just been canceled, and guess who called? -- It was Roger Corman. He's asked if I'd be interested in directing a "Watchers" movie. He said that this had been one of his most profitable series. I approached the project with some trepidation, as I frankly hadn't been too impressed with the previous "Watchers" movies. After reading the book, and loving it, and after comparing it to the previous film efforts, it dawned on me that no one had bothered doing the book! There was an existing script, that again had nothing to do with the book. After conferencing with Roger and his development person; Francis Dole, it was decided that we could reshape the script to make it more like the original book, yet still be a suitable installment to the series. As it turned out, I'm quite happy with the final picture.

Shot on at a breaknect pace in only 16 days! -- the film has it's share of tough locations, stunts, special effects, terrific acting, and a wonderful performance by Einstien, the dog. Mark Hamil, the star and co-producer of the movie is a terrifically talented guy, and would absolutely work with him again. My good buddy Steve Macht, who I'd only just met a few months previously on "Tarzan," made a great bad guy, and reuniting with Lisa Wilcox; whom I'd worked with previously on "Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4: The Dream Master," was a dream come true. All in all, I enjoyed my experience immensely on "Watchers Reborn."
