Special Effects: Designed and created make-up and creature effects.
When Rachel Talalay was named as director for this film, she knew who she wanted to do the special make-up effects for her. Having been the producer of "Nightmare 4" she knew of Buechler's work first hand, and thus became her first choice. Contractually Dave Miller remained involved as Robert Englund's personal make-up man, but all other make-up effects went to Buechler. This is rare as for the most part, multiple effects houses were usually employed to create the stunning effects for the "Nightmare" films. In addition to all the make-up effects, Robert Englund in fact wore Buehcler's version of the Freddy make-up in his scene with Johnny Depp for the infamous "Egg Commercial" and he also wore it in the action effects sequence where Freddy stretches and is pulled into another world by his daughter. Though Buechler has since been tagged with the title, "The Man Who Killed Freddy." While he is proud of the work he's done on the picture, he wishes that the movie would have provided the surreal challenges of "Nightmare 4."
